It’s time to change things up, so why not make a change together!
Running a marathon has been on my bucket list for a while now. I am proud to say that I am finally making this dream into a reality! After running the Disney half marathon with a personal goal of 2 hours and 30 minutes, I get to knock this off my bucket list.
Of course I can’t do this alone, running the marathon is only half the challenge. I will need your help raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS), to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. It takes more than one person to make up a team and that’s why I’m asking you to donate to my TNT fundraising page for TNT!
Since I am not big on running, a goal of 2 hours and 30 minutes will be a challenge for me. But a very welcomed challenge! I plan on keeping a journal of my journey. I would love for you to take this journey with me by not only helping me raise funds but coming back to my page and keeping up with my journey. Feel free to leave me comments and share my page with others.
I started my running schedule the third week of May 2014, roughly 100 days out from the day of the race and I set two goals for myself this first week of training: first one was to knock my current 12 minute mile (on the treadmill) down to an 11 minute mile and I am happy to say I did it in 10 minutes and 48 seconds; and second was to run 3 miles in 33 minutes (on pavement) breaking it down to an 11 minute mile. This was my first run on pavement in almost a year, and the first time I ran 3 miles straight without stopping in almost 2 years. Yep, I knew it would be a feat for me! I kicked both of my goal’s butt this week! It was a great feeling of accomplishment, even if they were small goals. I constantly remind myself that these small goals are ultimately what is going to help me accomplish my biggest goal of raising all of my funding goals and running this marathon in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Your donation will not only help me reach my personal goals, but most importantly help fund treatments that save lives every day!
Patients need these cures and they need your support.
